Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue Center is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from VCA Charities through it’s Ready for Rescue Grant program. This funding will directly enhance the lives of animals in the shelter’s care by providing vital enrichment and behavioral support.
A significant portion of the grant will fund the weekly visits of a specialist trainer who runs structured playgroups for the shelter’s dogs. These playgroups allow dogs to socialize, exercise, and be evaluated for behavior traits, helping staff better match them to adoptive families. The sessions provide enrichment that goes beyond daily walks, giving dogs valuable time outside of their kennels and opportunities to learn and thrive.
The grant will also help the shelter purchase additional kuranda beds for expanding campus, enrichment toys, recreational shade for play yards and the dog pool, and other items that improve the animals’ quality of life while they await adoption.
